Salvation

The Need
We have all sinned (sin being anything that falls short of perfection). Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

The Result of Sin
We earn a wage for sin just like a person earns a wage at a job. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. We know that the eventual price of sin is death but after that the second death if you are judged by your works. Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is [the book] of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

The Gift
There is nothing we can do to earn salvation. This is why it is referred to as a gift in Romans 6:23 and in Ephesians. Ephesians2:8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. By definition, if salvation is a gift, then it cannot be earned. If a person works for it, then they earn the debt of law – not grace. Romans 4:4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. 5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Who Saves
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:10 Specifically states the name “Jesus Christ of Nazareth”

How to Be Saved
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Who Can Be Saved
ANYONE can be saved. Can a murderer be saved? Moses was. Can an adulterer be saved? David was. It is God’s righteousness that saves and there is no sin that cannot be covered by the blood. Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Perfection
Are you crazy? Even if you are crazy we are nowhere near perfect here on earth. This is the whole reason for salvation through Jesus Christ alone. I John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
